Off to Buenos Aires and a 30 Day Cruise around Cape Horn to San Diego

Bill and I are in the Star Alliance Lounge at LAX, waiting for our flight to Panama City and on to Buenos Aires. We will spend 3 nights there before boarding the Celebrity Eclipse for our cruise.

But, before all that, I will catch up a little on the last couple of months. After our trip to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, Bill and I spent November at our condo in Hawaii. I don’t post blogs from there, since we do the same few things over and over, beach, bikes, eat, pool, etc. Fun, but really not noteworthy.

On the day before Thanksgiving, I got a call from Tulsa. My Step-Mother was very ill. By Friday she was in hospice and on Saturday, I left Bill and Mouse in Kihei and headed to Tulsa, arriving Sunday morning. My Step-Mother, Janet Joiner, died the next day. After that, my Brother, Keith, and his wife, Joanette, spent all of December and January and into February in Oklahoma. I traveled back and forth between home and Tulsa, as we worked to get my Dad set up in an assisted living facility. But, it was Not to be, just before he was due to move into the facility, my Dad, Howell Joiner, died in the early hours of February 8th. I just don’t think he wanted to go on without Janet.

We had a service for Dad in Bixby, OK on the 13th and then Bill, Keith and Joanette, my nephew, Jason, and niece, Kristin, and I all drove to Loranger, LA, where we had a second service and buried Dad’s ashes, between his parents in the little cemetery next to Oak Grove Church of God.

Well, it is time to board. I’ll post from Buenos Aires!
